‍The EAGLES Consortium, with partners Ansaldo Nucleare and ENEA (Italy), RATEN (Romania) and SCK CEN (Belgium), welcomes the European Commission’s new Strategy for the Development and Deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), which was officially launched on 10 March 2026 during the Nuclear Energy Summit held in Paris. EAGLES Consortium sees the initiative as a significant step forward for Europe’s clean-energy ambitions and for the industrial deployment of the next-generation nuclear technologies.
